Nail Care

Now that you have beautiful, perfectly manicured nails, follow these simple care instructions to make the most of your service!
If you find that you’ve broken a nail or have a Gel or Acrylic nail that is loose and peeling, please make an appointment to have it professionally removed or repaired as you could damage your nail by peeling off or removing the nail yourself.
General Care for Nails

- In the first 24 hours after application, you should be especially careful with your nails.
- Use cuticle oil daily. Dab a little onto each nail and massage into the nail and surrounding skin. Using a quality product like Dadi cuticle oil gives your nails the nutrients they need to stay strong and healthy.
- Don’t pick at your nails or the skin around your nails. This can chip away the polish, leave unsightly skin blemishes and damage both skin and nails.
- Always use rubber gloves when doing household chores and gardening.
- Never use metal nail files, these are too harsh and may cause damage to your manicure or pedicure.
- Return for regular, professional manicures every 2 -3 weeks.
Gel Manicure or Pedicure
- In the first 24 hours after application, you should be especially careful with your nails.
- Follow the same protocol for general nail aftercare.
- Never use your nails as tools instead use the pads of your fingers. ( e.g. when typing or opening a can drink)
- Don’t pick or peel the product off – this will cause damage to the nail bed that cannot be repaired.
- Chlorine and saltwater may cause lifting of Gel Polish. For best results, please wait 24 hours after application before you go swimming.
- Certain products such as sunscreen, tanning lotion, insect repellents and oil based products can cause the gel polish to lift. When using these products, try to avoid getting the product on your nails and wash your hands thoroughly afterwards.

Acrylic Nails
- In the first 24 hours after application, you should be especially careful with your nails.
- Follow the same protocol for general nail aftercare.
FAQs About Acrylic Nails
How often should you get a new set of acrylic nails?
A new set is usually recommended when there are air pockets (cloudy looking area) in the acrylics or when the natural nails pull away from the acrylics underside. Air pockets indicate that the acrylic is not adhering to the nail’s bed. For an average person, a new set is usually needed every 3 months.

How long can acrylic nails be worn?
Acrylic nails hold polish longer than natural nails and can add significant length. Despite these advantages, acrylic nails are not meant to last forever. They can be filled every two to three weeks for up to three months. Complications can result if artificial nails are left in place for too long.
Does water ruin acrylic nails?
Water and acrylic do not mix. The combination not only causes lifting, it also leads to bacteria and fungal growths underneath the acrylic nail. All of these outcomes are undesirable …. The only way to prevent water from seeping underneath the acrylic and onto your nails where it can do the most damage is to keep your acrylic nails dry.
Do acrylics break?
Acrylic does not break easily; however, you should still be careful with your nails. Use the pads of your fingers instead of the tips. If you break a nail, please make an appointment with your nail technician to have it repaired as soon as possible.
Facial Care
Our facials have major benefits for your skin’s health. They remove impurities and dead skin cells promoting firmer, more youthful looking skin, and, they support your skin’s moisture barrier helping keep your skin extra hydrated here in the desert. Plus, facials leave you with a seriously enviable glow.
Follow these dos and don’ts to keep your facial treatment lasting in between appointments.

The DOs
- Avoid other facial treatments for 48 hours. These may irritate or aggravate exfoliating skin.
- Stay hydrated. Drinking plenty of water will prevent dehydration, flush out toxins and leave you with a healthy, glowing complexion.
- Avoid sunbathing and intentional sun exposure for the next 12-24 hours as you may have slightly more sensitive skin. Likewise, avoid making your face particularly warm, such as by going in a sauna, hot tub or bath, or using a hairdryer against your face. Increased heat and sweat can also irritate your freshly exfoliated skin, causing redness and inflammation. If you do plan to be in direct sunlight, you can use an SPF sunscreen.
- Practice exfoliation in your skincare routine. While we advise against exfoliating immediately after your facial (ouch!), we do recommend adding this step to your weekly skin care routine. Continuing to exfoliate at home will keep your skin soft and smooth as well as prevent oil and dead skin from building up and dulling your complexion in between facials.
- Add a Vitamin C serum to your skin care routine. Not only does this superstar ingredient brighten dull skin, but it also boost collagen production which helps firm fine lines and wrinkles. Ask your beautician about various products available during your facial treatment to develop your skincare routine.
- Book regular facials between three to four weeks apart to take advantage of the skin’s natural turnover cycle. At minimum, schedule visits to maintain your skin’s health and address its specific needs as the seasons change.
The DON'Ts
- Don’t wear make-up immediately following a facial for 6-8 hours. To ensure that your skin stays glowing radiantly for as long as possible, avoid wearing make-up for 6-8 hours, or ideally overnight. This will ensure that you benefit fully from the products used during the facial, as well as prevent blocked pores (as these will be quite open following the treatment).
- Don’t use perfumed or exfoliating products on your face for a couple of days following a facial, again because your skin may be more sensitive than usual.
- Don’t have a hair removal treatment immediately after your facial. This double treatment runs the risk of over-exfoliating and burning your fresh complexion. To avoid discomfort and damage, space your hair removal appointments between 24 and 48 hours before or after your facial treatment.
- Don’t pick at or pop blemishes. It’s best to keep your hands off your face post-treatment. Every time you squeeze or touch a blemish, you run the risk of spreading bacteria and scarring your complexion because it’s much more sensitive and your pores are open.
- Don’t use at home peels or products with Retinol. Give your skin a week to heal before using potent at-home treatments like peels and retinol-based products. Your skin is particularly sensitive after a facial, and harsh, potentially irritating products can do more damage than good.

Waxing Care
Maintenance of your skin whilst waxing is vital. Please follow the after treatment guidelines below to ensure your skin is cared for properly.
Please note: slight soreness, small bumps and redness are common and perfectly normal temporary reactions, particularly if this is your first wax. You can apply antiseptic cream, aloe vera gel and/or ice to the treated area following your treatment to help alleviate these. Always wash your hands before applying any product.

24-48 Hours After Waxing
- Keep the waxed area clean and avoid heat and friction during the next 24-48 hours; No hot baths or showers (cool to lukewarm water only). No saunas, hot tubs or steam treatments (this includes facials).
- Avoid excessive sunbathing or direct sunlight on waxed areas as skin will be sensitive.
- No sport, gym work or other exercise, as sweat can irritate the waxed areas.
- Avoid scratching or touching the treated area with unwashed hands.
- For Hollywood and Brazilian waxes, it is best to avoid sexual contact for the first 24-48 hours after waxing as the contact may cause irritation to the skin.
- Wear clean, loose fitting clothes to avoid irritating the skin.
- Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools.
- Do not apply deodorants, body sprays, powders, lotion, perfumed products or other products to the treated area for 24 hours.
- After 24 hours, it is vital that you use a good quality moisturiser.
- Do not undertake any other skincare treatments within 48 hours of having a waxing treatment.
After Day 3...
- Exfoliate 2 – 3 times per week. As hair becomes softer and finer occasionally the hairs are trapped inside the follicle turning into ingrown hairs. It’s best to use a quality exfoliating scrub (salt, sugar, etc) and loofas for best results.
- Use a moisturiser daily to help condition skin. Hydration of your skin assists with prevention of ingrown hairs and a more comfortable wax with future treatments.
- Schedule regular waxing appointments. To make the most of your waxing treatment it is important to maintain some sort of cycle by waxing every 3-4 weeks. Hairs renew themselves within this time and having irregular waxing treatments means you may have shorter hairs shooting through in-between. It can take up to four treatments for your hair to get on a growth cycle that gives best results. Hair needs to be at least 5mm long before it can be successfully removed by waxing so do not shave between treatments.
Massage Care

After your massage treatment, your body and mind are in a relaxed state. To ensure you receive maximum benefits from your treatment, it is recommended that you read and follow the aftercare below:
- Drink plenty of water after your treatment. This helps with dehydration, lost fluids, reduces fatigue, as well as helps eliminate toxins from your body.
- Avoid drinking alcohol or caffeine containing beverage for 12 hours, as they have dehydrating properties.
- Avoid strenuous activity for the next 12 hours, to help your body relax and de-stress further.
- Take time to do simple breathing exercise, for example these breathing techniques for relaxation.
- When sitting in front of a computer for longer than 20 minutes, stand up to stretch and gently warm up your joints. Fetch yourself a glass of water.
- Make sure to book your next session promptly. Massage treatments work best, when performed on a regular basis.
